Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remain the biggest cause of deaths worldwide. Ghrelin and leptin are two hormones playing an important role in the regulation of food intake and body weight . It has been noted that high leptin and low ghrelin level are associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and insulin resistance. Serum fasting concentrations of leptin, ghrelin, interlukin-6 (IL-6), C-Reactive protein (CRP), insulin, Cortisol, Testosterone, estradiol, human growth hormone (hGH) and IGF-1 were measured using ELISA kits.Fasting blood glucose and lipid profile were measured by enzymatic methods.
