Relay feedback autotuning is extended to the various fields of process control industries. A new time domain technique yields significantly improved accuracy over the conventional relay feedback method by deriving the explicit expressions for unknown process model parameters in terms of the output limit cycle data. Utkal Mehta works at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji Islands in School of Engineering and Physics. A PhD from IIT Guwahati, India, he has been awarded the Govt scholarship for his doctoral program. His research interests include relay control systems, design of automatic controllers, model identification, and control applications.
