The statistical data on the design variable such as live load, dead load, earthquake load, wind load, compressive strength of concrete, yield strength of steel, bearing capacity of soil based on SPT are properly presented in the book. The step by step method of reliability analysis of shallow footings, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) are discussed in several articles of the book. In summary, the books argue on the reliability of Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) in designing shallow footings.

I am Sukanta Kumer Shill, recently doing PhD on Structural Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) at Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), Canberra, Australia. I have born in Dhaka of Bangladesh. I have completed M.Sc and B.Sc in Civil Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Bangladesh.
