This book is as a result of a research carried out by the author. The aim of this study was to examine Christian Faith Based Organizations (CFBOs) responses to the spiritual and psychosocial needs of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Kibera. The study was guided by six objectives and research questions which were to: examine socio-economic factors influencing the spiritual and psychosocial needs of OVC, establish the spiritual and psychosocial needs of OVC, determine whether CFBOs in Kibera are engaged in responding to the spiritual and psychosocial needs of OVC, examine the CFBOs programmes responding to the needs of the OVC, establish whether the CFBO programmes were relevant, sustainable and comprehensive, and finally recommend ways of strengthening the responses in order to make them more effective. The study was guided by protestant work ethic theory and integrated person-centred counselling theory. The study was mainly qualitative. It employed survey and naturalisticresearch designs.
