This book, a collection of my academic papers which I have prepared and written approximately for three years, discusses religion and happiness from the perspectives of education and great sages. The book is composed of two parts and seven chapters. Part one has three chapters which discuss religion and happiness from a perspective of higher education. Chapter 1 examines religion and happiness in terms of Korean higher education. Chapter 2 argues why universities need either happiness education or religion education. Chapter 3 reviews Christianity and happiness from a perspective of higher education. Part two has four chapters that discuss several great sages on happiness and education in cross-cultural perspectives. Chapter 4 weighs Confucius and Thomas Aquinas on happiness and education. Chapter 5 reviews Plato and Mencius on happiness and education. Chapter 6 explores Augustine and Mozi on happiness and education. Chapter 7 argues Buddha and Laozi on happiness and education. All 7 academic articles appear in ERIC (Education Resources Information Center: http://www.eric.ed.gov/), the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education.
