The members of Liberation In Truth, Unity Fellowship Church of Newark, NJ, create religious community as a spiritual practice. This dissertation presents these Black lesbian women s perspectives on identity, religion, and spirituality. The study illustrates what it means to be a moral agent under multiple forms of oppression, to show the delicate, dynamic balance between preexistent social location and generative moral agency.
