Chapter two relates to the conceptual context in the field of religious tourism and provides a comprehensive discussion about the meaning and definition of religious tourism, characteristics of religious tourism, and forms of religious tourism. Chapter three describes the current state of religious tourism and tourist facilities and services in north-west India, followed by the management and organization of religious tourist sites in the study area. Chapter four relates to the assessment of tourist background and their experience towards different facilities and services available in the region. The chapter also explains in detail about major problems and hurdles faced in the development of religious tourism. The fifth chapter will describe a SWOT analysisof religious tourism in north-west India. In the end, the sixth chapter deals with the summary of findings and conclusion drawn from various chapters followed by suggestions as well as recommendations.
