Autorenporträt
Luís Mollá, natural de Tarifa (Cádiz), es Capitán de Navío de la Armada, piloto naval y diplomado de Estado Mayor. En 2004 obtuvo el premio Nostromo de narrativa marítima con la novela El veneno del escorpión, galardón que obtuvo por segunda vez en 2008 con La Séptima Ola. En 2005 ganó el premio Almirante Oquendo por su obra Morir y vivir en la mar. En 2007 la Armada le concedió el premio Virgen del Carmen de novela por La tumba de Tautira. En 2010 obtuvo el premio "Relatos del Mar" por Sudario de hielo y en 2012 quedó finalista del mismo concurso con La tumba 116. En 2017 volvió a ganar el Almirante Oquendo con La leyenda del paso del Noroeste, y ese mismo año obtuvo el premio literario que anualmente convoca el Ejército del Aire con Alas de Ángeles. También en 2017 publicó con Almuzara La flota de las especias y en 2018, El Almirante, una biografía novelada de Blas de Lezo. En 2019, siempre ya con Almuzara, publicó Eso no estaba en mi libro de Historia de la Navegación y en 2020 el Señor de los Mares, biografía novelada de Álvaro de Bazán. En 2021 publica La batalla de las especias, la segunda parte de La flota de las especias. Es asiduo conferenciante de temas relacionados con el mar y asiduo colaborador con numerosos artículos periodísticos en distintos medios de prensa y programas de radio y televisión.
