Philippa Mein Smith is the director of the New Zealand Australia Research Centre at the University of Canterbury. Peter Hempenstall is a professor emeritus of history at the University of Canterbury. Shaun Goldfinch is a senior lecturer in the department of politics at the University of Otago.
