Autorenporträt
I wrote "Remembering Pop Pop" shortly after losing my husband, Larry Tithof, following his fifth open-heart surgery. A doting dad and loving grandfather, Larry lived each day to the fullest, always with a positive attitude. All who knew him have great memories of their time with Larry. My hope is that this story will help those who have lost a family member to recognize the value of the precious memories of their loved one. Now that I am retired from my 30-year teaching career in Michigan, I finally have time to pursue my hobby of writing children's stories, most of which are inspired by my own family. I spend winters in the southwest and summers in Michigan--the best of both worlds because I have grandchildren in both locations! My first book, "My Michigan Summer", shows the differences between the west coast and Michigan through the perspective of my grands. Creating the book with photos of Michigan and unique stick characters was such a fun project. My story has been shared with elementary students and libraries in Michigan as well as other states, and I have enjoyed the entire process.
