Strength of the fabric is an important property that decides and influences all other performance properties of the fabric. Consideration of the strength of the fabric is very essential when selecting the appropriate fabric for the intended garment. Although we all understand the importance of the strength of the fabric in garments, a systematic approach is required to correlate various strength properties with yarn and fabric construction parameters. In this study, strength properties of 56 warp knit fabrics were evaluated in terms of bursting strength, which deals with the strength of the fabric when a multidirectional force is applied; as well as air permeability of the fabric, the value of which represents the amount of air that can pass through the fabric. These two parameters were evaluated with the fabric weight and yarn count to investigate the correlation. Simple linear regression model, scatter diagrams and best fit line graphs by SPSS were used to help the evaluation process in order to gain a more thorough understanding.
