After raising awareness of arbitrary arrests and illegal detentions in the province's 5 territories, RPDDH followed up on one of the participants' recommendations, which was to monitor the various prisons and dungeons in Kasaï Central province. The number of documented cases of arbitrary arrest and illegal detention caught the network's attention, not only because of its abundant growth, but also because it's a fairly high black figure that requires a mechanism to combat. The network also notes that its multiplicity across the province's nooks and crannies is a source of conflict and lack of social cohesion. One of the reasons behind the drafting and publication of this report is to improve key human rights issues in this post-conflict province.
