Equine reproduction requires an important rigour in the management of the mare in order to fulfil the objective of one foal per year and as early as possible in the year, taking into account the particularities of the anatomy, oestrous cycle and ovulation in the mare, as well as the disorders which constitute a major economic stake for the equine breeders.In order to understand some of the problems that arise in reproduction in the mare, we were interested in the pathological changes that affected the different segments of the genital tract by proceeding to the description of any lesion that affected mainly the ovaries, the oviduct, the uterus, the cervix and the vagina in order to provide recent information on these genital pathologies.
