They are driven by the desperation of a home firmly in the grasp of criminal gangs who have touched their lives with unimaginable destruction and death. The Chuza family, minus their oldest son, the victim of a drive by shooting, now make their way to the border of the Unites States, fearfully hoping against all hope to find a new refuge from loss and calamity. Refusing to fully acknowledge their dark assignment carrying drugs over the border as payment for cartel help crossing into the U.S, tragedy strikes yet again. The family is mercilessly assaulted before they can flee into America, and only the child, Moises survives the crossing of the Rio Bravo (the archaic bygone name for the more recently christened Rio Grande River). And the boy's survival comes only through a miracle of God. Moises. In English Moses ironically meant "drawn out" (from the Nile River as the Bible story recounted). His parents are lost to the criminals. He is found near death, beached on a sandy switchback in the river, miles from the Presidio overpass where he and his parents had crossed the waters. What would happen to the child now? His fate suddenly seems to rest in the hands of a female ICE agent who, contrary to her stony personality, mysteriously takes pity on him without really intending to. His story begins to weave into the tapestry of Agent Yalina Rahim's, and both lives, along with many others create a mystical new design centered around a life drawn from a river. It's not always exactly happy or without problems and trials, but Moises seems completely unflappable. With nearly supernatural optimism, he continues to face a world where danger threatens. His young life might have even ended when a Mexican cult kidnapped him for a ceremony marked by human sacrifice... But God had other plans! No one would ever have believed the young illegal immigrant would find safety, the love of a new family, and dreams coming true. Even a dog he names after a hapless cartoon coyote! But this was how God did things. And as for Officer Yalina? Her own river would flow mysteriously into a bright light and life in its own right. She would soon discover true love with a man who had once held a gun to his head, ready to take his own life, but who similarly found the path to hope through an ancient story of Good News. Rescue on the Rio Bravo is Good News about a daring incursion into a shadowy realm by a Holy Warrior who came to deliver those dwelling in darkness into His wonderful light. It's a rescue that started with a small boy named Moises - "drawn out" from the waters - a Rescue on the Rio Bravo!
