One of the main functions of the university is to promote a new generation of knowledge through scientific, technological, humanistic and social research. A recurrent argument to criticize research in universities is that most of its results are not applied, are therefore useless and do not bring benefits to society. In this context, it is necessary to develop qualitative research to collect and evaluate non-standardized data on the quality of a topic or subject of study, quantitative research to describe, explain and predict phenomena through numerical data, mixed research combining the above to better understand the phenomenon and formative research as a strategy in the teaching-learning process through research.
