This book consists of five chapters, focusing on the case studies of Jingchu culture classics translation. Chapter 1 deals with the English translation of food culture-specific expressions in the Chu ci ( ) from the perspective of cultural schema theory. Chapter 2 makes a tentative study of translation methods for Chu culture-specific items in the English translations of the Zhuangzi ( ). Chapter 3 explores the translation of culture-loaded words in the "Jiu ge" ( ) of the Chu ci. Chapter 4 examines the influence of translators' cultural identity on translating, with a focus on the Chu ci. Chapter 5 tentatively deals with the rendering of monsters' names in the Xiyou ji ( ).
