Based on systematic studies of the equilibrium and non-equilibrium transformations, and the stress induced transformations, studies of electropulsing induced phase transformations and microstructural changes of various alloys and thin films of semiconductors, such as transparent conductive oxides and thermoelectric materials: Bi-Te, AZO-2 and AZO-5 have been carried out. It was found that electropulsing accelerated tremendously transformations and enhanced greatly both plastic behavior and physical properties in both alloys and thin films of semiconductors. Also, multi-circulation of transformations were quantitatively detected, which provided feasible ways to monitor structural evolution and to enhance conductivity and optical properties of the thin films of semiconductors.
