The study was consolidated with the purpose of determining the relationship between research competences and the teaching of text production in virtuality as perceived by a group of high school students, who, based on their experience in times of pandemic, issued a sustainable opinion on the form and concreteness of this problem. The procedures of the quantitative approach were followed, in a basic study, of non-experimental, correlational, prospective transversal design through a sample of 159 students selected through non-probabilistic sampling, to whom two instruments with ordinal scale were administered. The results showed a high level of research competences in 96.9 % and, with respect to text production, in 100 % of the students. The hypothesis was tested by means of the Rho Spearman correlation coefficient. It is concluded that both variables have a positive, high and statistically significant correspondence.
