Autorenporträt
Dr. Jisun Jung is an assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Education. Her current research focuses on academic professions, doctoral education, employment and postgraduate studies, and higher education research in Asia. She has previously co-edited two related special issues: 'Higher Education Research in East Asia: Regional and National Evolution and Path-Dependencies' (Higher Education Policy, 2015) and 'Graduate Employment and Higher Education in Asia' (International Journal of Chinese Education, 2016).  Dr. Hugo Horta is an assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Education. He formerly served as the deputy-director at the Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+), based at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, where he also coordinated the research program on Science, Higher Education, and Policy (SHEP). He is currently a Coordinating-Editor of Higher Education (Springer), having published several articles on issues concerning science and higher education policy throughout his career. His postdoc at Tohoku University, Japan, sparked his interest in Asian higher education systems, their evolution and current challenges, themes that he continues to pursue. He also serves on the editorial boards of several international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Akiyoshi Yonezawa is a Professor and Director of the Office of Institutional Research, Tohoku University. With a background in sociology, he has published many books and articles on comparative higher education policy - especially focusing on world-class universities, internationalization of higher education, and public-private relationships in higher education. He is currently serving as a board member at the Japan Association for Higher Education Research. He is a co-editor of Book Series Higher Education in Asia: Quality, Excellence and Governance series (Springer Book Series).
