Addiction, abuse, trauma and guilt. The generational curse had her bound. Unexpectedly, it was as if a light switch had flipped and the darkness was never going to end. Brittany had firmly believed the past trauma she had endured was securely locked away, put on a shelf, and handled -- but was it? With the skeletons in her mind busting at the seams, she finally reached breaking point. What had once seemed handled was now haunting her. She simply could not escape it. Realising that she had landed at rock bottom; the only way out was to heal and face her demons. Brittany started something that had once felt impossible - she tried to find true freedom. Can she do it? Can she recover from a past life that had already robbed her of so much? This is a true, inspirational story of one woman's battle to break free of a generational curse, to find herself, keep herself alive throughout the darkest points as a teenager, trying to find her purpose, learning to love herself, fighting to prove herself to Irish Immigration while facing deportation twice and finding her happily ever after. This is Resilience.

Autorenporträt
This is the courageous story of Brittany Mc Enteggart. A young woman from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, USA, who now lives in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland with her wife, Áine. Brittany has had dreams and hopes of writing a published book since she was a child. She has always had a passion for reading and writing. Although Brittany left High School early, she did not let that stop her from achieving what she wanted to, and she successfully gained her GED in 2011. Her studies did not stop there. She continued her education and achieved a Diploma in Photographic Studies in 2015 and a Diploma in Mental Health Studies in 2019. At the age of 24 she founded 'The Beautifully Broken Project', which is a Mental Health & Suicide Awareness Project, respectfully dedicated to her loved ones tragically lost to suicide. Her kind nature and caring heart enables her to not only resonate with others like her, but to help them find their voice and inner peace - something that she, herself, has found healing in. For a woman of 30 years old, she has lived a traumatic life. From being involved in foster care at a young age, to surviving a sexual assault at the tender age of thirteen. Such events led her down a dark and dangerous path. Without knowing how her life would turn out, Brittany has built herself back up from nothing in a completely different world to the one she was used to. Her life experiences have moulded her into the resilient woman she is today. Brittany now helps others by her speaking her truth. She shares her tragic struggles through the transition from childhood into adulthood, to give hope. She relives painful memories and shares joyous ones, to allow us to join her in her life, and understand that we all deserve a happily ever after.
