Myocardial Infarction (MI) or Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), commonly known as a heart attack, is the interruption of blood supply to part of the heart, causing some heart cells to die. This is most commonly due to occlusion of a coronary artery following the rupture of a vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque, which is an unstable collection of lipids and white blood cells (especially macrophages) in the wall of an artery. The resulting ischemia and oxygen shortage, if left untreated for a sufficient period of time, can cause damage or death of heart muscle tissue. Aim of study: Was to evaluate changes in the levels of adipocyte derivative hormones (resistin, leptin and adiponectin) in patients with acute myocardial infarction and there correlation with proinflammatory cytokine (IL-6) and some related proteins as C-reactive protein and troponin I . Subjects and Methods The study included fifty patients (34 males and 16 females) and forty subject as controls (24 males and 16 females). This study was conducted during the period from December 2009 to April 2010. The study was designed to investigate the change of the following parameters in serum of acute myocardial
