The demand is partly meet by home production of oil seed crop and partly by import of edible oils. Under such situation it needs to build up self sufficiency in oil production to meet the increasing demand of consumers. Sunflower is one of the potential oil seed crops which can meet to the situation.

Ashok Choudhary was born in 1992 at Udaipuriya, Jaipur in Rajasthan state. Ashok Choudhary completed his pre-university education from the village school and B.Sc. Ag (Hons.) from MPUAT, Udaipur. He then moved to SHIATS, Allahabad, and prosecuted his M.Sc (Ag.) in 2015. Then he completed his Ph.D. Ag. (Agronomy) from SKRAU, Bikaner in 2020.
