Potato is a short duration crop and nutritionally superior, capable of producing high amount of food per unit area, time and amenable for inclusion in intensive cropping systems. In Nepal, the low productivity is mainly due to the poor soil nutrition and unavailability of quality seed tubers of the recommended cultivars. This book gives a general idea on the appropriate use of nitrogen and potash. The study showed that potato production through clonal progeny of HPS II/67 with fertilization of 150 kg N/ha and 100 kg K2O/ha was appropriate dose to optimize yield and maximize the net return in Mangalpur, Chitwan condition. However, further studies in different ecological niches of the district are suggested.
