In the current world, Rapid Transit Systems (RTS) are concerned to be one of the fast modes of transportation. The lack of prompt decision-making procedures and expensive on-board lifesaving applications fails to guarantee the safeness of the travelling community. Moreover, during emergency cases, internally wired safety setups of any RTS do not prevents drastic disaster and allows a negative impact on required reliable changes. As an alternative to other expensive technologies, the wireless sensor network (WSN) system provides fast communicative and compact applications to RTS. To reduce causalities, designing such a network application to RTS always poses challenging problems in terms of fault tolerance and time-bounded packet delivery. This book discusses the Integration of WSN and fuzzy-logic based unique scheme that optimizes the response time of critical events in on-board RTS lifesaving applications.
