The research work is aimed at studying wooden buildings and their restoration and adaptation features. The purpose of the study was to identify patterns of formation of wooden buildings, highlighting the stages and development of typology, the search for universal solutions for the renovation of objects. The objects of the study are historical wooden residential buildings located in Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk. The subject of the study is the historical wooden residential buildings on the territory of Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk, principles and methods of renovation and adaptation of the historical wooden residential buildings. The chronological boundaries of the study cover the historical period from the early 19th century to the mid 20th century. The territorial boundaries of the study are defined by part of the St. Petersburg agglomeration, namely the territories of Pushkin and Pavlovsk.
