This stalwart Resurgius bears an uncanny resemblance to our author, Serge, obviously a wish-fulfillment, for he has everything that Serge has not-especially muscles and courage, though he is several I.Q. points down from Serge himself and wears Serge's actual horn-rimmed spectacles. Through a series of extraordinary battles, the ruling Mize of Atalanta are at last bested by the long-suffering and suppressed Dongs who join them in a happier coexistent universe led by a resurgent Resurgius and his beloved Amanda.
