Financial savings of households particularly retail investors play an important role in financing the development and growth of an economy. The larger the retail investors participation in the stock market or in the primary market, the more competitive and deeper the market will be. In fact, households are the economic agents who play a major role in providing their savings to deficit sectors. Indian capital market particularly equity market witnessed several changes in its functioning after liberalization. Since, last two decades it has been changed rapidly. There are significant changes have been taken place in the mechanism of capital market. There is a need to understand these developments to participate in efficient manner. This book is presented an empirical examination of the retail investor perception towards the recent developments that are taking place in Indian capital market and their trends, investors' investment strategies and problems they faced. It also presented redressal mechanism adopted by SEBI, investor education programs conducting by SEBI and other institutions.
