The author of RETRIBUTION, T.William, is a successful trial lawyer. Aftergraduating from the University of FloridaCollege Of Law, he was hired as anassistant public defender. Within the fi rstyear of that employment he tried morejury trials than most lawyers try in a career.He won practically all of them - which isunusual since the state prosecutors get tochoose which cases actually end up going totrial. How did he do it? His answer is, "I outworked the other side."After one year as a PD, he was hired by the largestinsurance defense fi rm in Northeast Florida. He wasfortunate to be placed with a future Florida Supreme Court ChiefJustice for mentoring. Together they tried dozens of jury trials and together theywon most of them. How was that possible? His answer is, "We worked harder andprepared more then the other side."Another opportunity came for a career change. Along with three other men he formeda law fi rm. Although at fi rst they would take anything that came through the door inorder to cover the overhead, within a few years he was exclusively handling and tryingplaintiff s' cases in civil court rooms.
