As an artist, he combines illustrations of his own with the story. This novel takes place in Serenity Town. Although this is not a real town, there is such a place. The town was created by the author in his own back yard over a span of twenty plus years and home to the Montana Gunfighters Association Reenactors group. It is also a venue to weddings, reunions, and various parties. Russ also offers wagon and carriage rides from the town, where his horse (Chief) is kept. Often times, he is seen driving the horse and wagon into his hometown of Laurel where many get to see a novelty most other people seldom or ever see.
