Qhum, and Salutations to the Primes! Peace and blessings to the family, and thank you for your interest in Taíno culture and spirituality. It is not my position to replace, distort, or misrepresent the sacred teachings and wisdom of our ancient ancestors. Instead, it is my humble hope to enhance the understanding of their spirituality and bring it into focus for the realities we are living today . I approach this work with a spirit of reverence, love, and responsibility, giving homage and respect to the great Taíno scholars, cultural stewards, and warriors of remembrance who have worked tirelessly to keep the legacy of our ancestors alive. Among them, I acknowledge Irving "Peña" Correa, Roberto Múcaro Borrero, José Barreiro, Mildred "Guari" Rivera López, and Naniki Reyes Ocasio, whose dedication has helped reclaim and preserve the identity, history, and spirituality of our people. Their work reminds us that we do not simply read or write about Taíno culture-we live it, embody it, and honor it. I want to say this with all my heart: I love my people. Showing remembrance and respect for who the Taíno were and who we are today brings me profound joy, peace, and purpose. This work is not just an exploration of the past but a bridge to our future. It is an honor and privilege to share this sacred knowledge with you. May the Taíno ancestors guide you, speak through you, and walk alongside you on your journey. May their wisdom breathe life into your spirit, and may you find peace, strength, and connection in their eternal presence. Han han katu! (Let it be so!)
