What's worse than spending weeks stuck cleaning out the home of your mom's late aunt? Inadvertently screwing up the plans of the Egyptian God of Slaughter, for starters. Finding out you're a wizard is just the icing on this unbelievable cake. Who knew when you inherit property, you assume the magical responsibilities that go with it? Dom and his mother discover that stationary dimension points connect to Hub World, the central anchor for the many worlds of the Golden Path, and Aunt Minni's house comes with…obligations. Dominique Walker is a disillusioned theoretical physicist, relying on Tai Chi to battle depression while he searches for what's missing in his life. Between relationship and career, he can see his entire life mapped out before him and it rings hollow. Most folks would be thrilled to be advancing up the academic ladder, rubbing elbows with wealthy donors, convincing them this project or that research is valid, but his gut tells him there should be so much more to his life. In Hub World, Dom glimpses this so much more. His understanding of physics combines with Tai Chi to open up wizardly possibilities, but these transferable skills come with responsibilities and consequences as well. Doing what he believes is right, he interferes with and receives the undivided attention of Deven, the God of Slaughter. Dom, with his friends and family, must steal back the capstone that anchors the Golden Path and reset it, before Deven introduces the many worlds to the nightmares of the God of Slaughter. Hub World is the central anchor planet set in a network of realities selected long ago. These chosen worlds radiate out on a cosmic scale like spokes, or a spider's web, known as the Golden Path. This web of worlds is connected by stationary dimension points. Dominque's mom just inherited one, and it passes down magical as well as legal responsibilities.
