As a boy in the 1960s, Robert Zweig had a rare opportunity: Every summer, he would leave his home in America and make extended visits to his mother's birthplace-Naples, Italy. During each visit, he'd uncover new mysteries about the parents he thought he knew. There, he learned how his German father survived Auschwitz, came to Italy, and met his mother, and how the pair managed to survive the ravages of Fascism and Nazism during World War II.
