"Return to Real is a game changer!" -Nicole Welch, Speaker/Author GetHeartMedia.com "Butler is a harbinger with the superpower of vulnerability and the ability to articulate emotions to others in a way that helps clear a path to inner healing." -Wanda Hollingsworth, Minister/ Pastoral Counselor Chalis Butler never expected to find herself at the end of a failed marriage just six weeks in. Brought up in the Christian faith, she spent a lifetime trying to "do everything right" only to find herself at her lowest point, facing heartbreak and deep disillusionment. In search of answers, Butler embarked on a personal journey of healing and self-discovery. Now, in Return to Real, she is able to share her story of redemption. For anyone who has ever found themselves at a low point, feeling broken-hearted, confused, or in need of direction, this book will serve as an honest and wise companion in the struggle. Beyond sharing her own story with vulnerability, compassion, and humor, Butler lays out five principles, or "keys" that will help readers face the past, find joy in the present, and have hope for the future. Includes thought provoking questions perfect for small groups or individual reflection.
Autorenporträt
Chalis Butler writes from her favorite overstuffed chair in sunny, Central Florida. In the throws of parenting two toddlers, she and her husband vacillate between intentional living and survival mode. This is why her house can look immaculate or appalling on any given day. She has a rocky relationship with coffee. She wears graphic T's and yoga shorts whenever possible. She loves finding awesome books for a dollar, watching her kids sleep, and pie crust. Some other interesting tidbits: Chalis has spent time working with mission teams and teaching English in Haiti; she lived and worked in Australia for three years before returning home to the United States; she spent 16 years teaching music before switching gears to become a stay-at home mom and begin working on her first book.
