When I was younger I used to be afraid of dark quiet places, fear of what I could not see, and the overwhelming sound of quietness. The thought of something of the night entrapping me and having no power to see it coming. When I was younger I used to be afraid of dark quiet places, fear of what I could not see, and the overwhelming sound of quietness. The thought of something of the night entrapping me and having no power to see it coming. In a dark environment when no matter how wide you open them, your eyes without choice must fail you, but your ear's sense of hearing instinctively becomes intensified due to your lack of sight. As I've grown older coming to know the Lord, walking in my home around 4 or 5 am in the morning when everything's still dark soothes me now. There is a still quite calm that doesn't frighten me but draws me to take the opportunity to spend time with the Lord, free of life's daily responsibilities. God's holy spirit in me allows me to be a light walking through the dark stillness of my residence without fear but at peace as I pray for and bless my home. As I meet him in his secret place praying and worshiping him till the dark skies turn to a lightened horizon. I open my eyes from prayer in a dark quiet room that started around 4 or 5 am to a lightened room around 6 am hearing the birds chirping to a new day. Hear me out, I'm going somewhere with these illustrations. I equate the above to the dark times we are living in and the different viewpoints from one in Christ to one without him. Without Christ it's difficult to not worry and to see the meaning and goodness in dark perilous situations and trials. Thus, when the right way is hard to see we "seek to hear" from someone the instruction of what to do. When eyesight is lacking another of our 5 senses may open, most commonly the ear gate opens. In the flesh without Christ this can often lead to going in circles or being easily manipulated. Glory to God that being blind in the dark is not a handicap when you live in Christ, but an advantage. For we rest in Christ and clearly hear the Lord and are able to walk by faith not by sight. In this book I share some of my experiences in my walk with the Lord and revelations I received in certain matters of myself, trials, and God's word. In no way do I try to emulate God's word for that is impossible to do. But what I share in this book of poems is spoken word that I believe God's holy spirit blessed me to write, that I hope encourages, enlightens, and informs whomever reads. I pray you receive nothing but good in the reading of this book, and be encouraged in the mighty power of the only living God! ~ Latesha F. Williams
