He had delegated a sizeable degree of responsibility to Ma and Gunari; thus the lautari had been engaged to play at various times during the meal and the catering had Ma's expertise bestowed upon it; ensuring no doubt that there would be a pot of her famous rabbit stew on the menu. Old grievances and vendettas had been put aside when they had been forced to co-exist in their new housing estate but the lavish get-together bringing the tribes together would prove one way or another if the grievances, rooted so deeply in the past were insoluble; or not.

Autorenporträt
The author was born in Mansfield England in 1944 moving to Dover in 1950. He was educated at Dover Grammar school 1955-1960, joined the British army where he served in the Far and Middle East. He is divorced and has two daughters and two sons and lives in Caerphilly, South Wales. In 2014 he had pancreatic cancer and underwent a 12 hour operation involving total pancreatomy. On release from hospital he suffered traumatic hallucinations and many dreams, one of which became the basis of his first novel Gadjo.
