Heterocyclic compounds were the major class of organic compounds. These were enormously essential with wide range of synthetic, pharmaceutical and industrial applications and are famous for their biological activities. There is an extensive spectrum of biological activities shown by many compounds containing five membered heterocyclic rings in their structure. These heterocyclic compounds have broadened scope in remedying various dispositions in clinical medicines. Thiazoles have been reported to show pharmacological activities. This work aims to review the work reported, their chemistry and biological activities of thiazole during past years such as antitubercular, amoebicidal agents, fungicides, antimicrobial, antiinceticide, anticancer, antifungal, hypnotic agent, etc. There are number drugs containing thiazole ring such as -Cefdinir (antibacterial drug, semisynthetic third generation cephalosporin drug), flucloxacillin (androgenic steroid danazol), Pramipexole (The dopamine D2-agonist), Sulfathiazol (antimicrobial drug), Ritonavir (The HIV-1 protease inhibitor, antiretroviral drug), Famotidine (H2-receptor antagonist), etc.
