Dr Ola Orekunrin MBBS Ola qualified in 2008 from the Hull York Medical School, having maintained a special interest in paediatrics throughout her studies. After completing her foundation training, she was awarded the prestigious Japanese MEXT Fellowship in 2010, and is currently completing her research thesis, on the role of iPS cell-based therapies for children with genetic diseases, at Jikei University, Tokyo. She has recently combined her love of rotary-wing flying with her passion for improving the outcomes of paediatric trauma in Africa by starting up West Africa’s first air ambulance service., Dr Helen Chaplin MBChB, MRCPCH Helen Chaplin qualified in 2003 from the University of Birmingham, and has worked within paediatrics since 2004. She has trained in the Midlands area of the UK, in Birmingham, Derby, Coventry and Wolverhampton. She became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2007, and is currently working as a Paediatric Specialty Registrar in Wolverhampton and is specialising in community paediatrics. Coming from a family of teachers, Helen has a particular interest in education, and regularly enjoys leading a variety of paediatric teaching sessions.
