This work is aimed at understanding and exploring the reasons behind increasing trend of seeking Islamic education by urban women and the role that Al Huda is playing in educating these women. Al Huda is the most prominent religious institutes catering to the needs of the urban women. By analyzing the case of Al Huda, the research discusses the impact of Islamic education acquired by these women on the lives and lifestyles of women. The reason for conducting this research is to investigate the increasing popularity of religious educational institutes, other than the traditional madrasas, which presents an interesting and intriguing social sciences and anthropological topics. The results from the survey reveal that women are attracted towards attaining Islamic education due to variety of reasons which include the recent global and national events; lack of Islamic knowledge; personal interest to understand Islam more thoroughly; and occurrence of a life changing event. Women are found to prefer Al Huda because of its unique ideology which focuses on connecting Muslims to Allah by making the students aware of their moral obligations and the importance of Islam for self- development.
