Bounty hunting isn't an easy job, but Reyna Vance likes to think she makes it look good. Dressed head-to-toe in black leather with a quick-draw blaster on her hip and a dry wit sharper than a vibroblade, she's made a name for herself hauling in the galaxy's most wanted-dead or alive. Preferably alive. Alive pays better. With her trusty, sarcasm-loaded android, Axe, and a ship equipped with a reinforced energy cage (and a mute function for particularly annoying prisoners), Reyna was expecting a routine payday when she picked up her latest target, Jace. But nothing in her life stays simple for long. First, they get attacked by mysterious ships with a serious grudge. Then, they're forced into an unfamiliar Star Gate that spits them out in uncharted space. Now, they're stuck on a strange planet, staring up at an ancient, impossibly clean castle that defies the laws of dust, cobwebs, and common sense. And just when Reyna thinks things can't get weirder, she steps through an invisible threshold-right into a party full of people who have no idea where she came from or how she got there. Between surviving whatever supernatural nonsense they've stumbled into, navigating an unwanted alliance with Jace, and resisting the urge to throw Axe out of an airlock every time he helpfully points out how reckless she is, Reyna has her hands full. And she hasn't even gotten paid yet. One bounty. One wrong turn. One impossible mystery. Reyna's about to learn that getting lost in space is one thing. Getting lost in an entirely different galaxy? That's when things get interesting.
