Here we report the synthesis and Characterization of Vanillin and Cinnamaldehyde- rhodamine based signalling systems selective recognition of Fe(III) and Cu(II) ions. The Vanillin and Cinnamaldehyde molecule was used as a recognition moiety and rhodamine-6G and rhodamine B was used as a signalling moiety. The excellent fluorescent response to Fe(III) and Cu(II) in ACN/water (1:1, v/v) can be detected even by the naked eye, which provides a facile method for the visual detection of Fe(III) and Cu(II).
