India comprises one of the richest flora and fauna on the earth. India is one of the countries where aerobiological studies were initiated as early as 19th century. Modern aerobiology is classified into two categories indoor (intramural aerobiology) and outdoor (extramural aerobiology). It is a well known fact that indoor air is not free from micro organisms. Airborne fungi are able to grow and propagate under favorable conditions on a variety of building materials and indoor surfaces, causing indoor air pollution. In Chhattisgarh, rice is the main crop, is grown on about 77% of the net sown area. Maximum intramural aerobiological study was carried out in different areas like hospitals, poultry farm, museum, libraries, dwelling houses, woodeen industries but study of Rice mill and FCI godown was not carried yet. Present work was done to isolate the indoor fungi from the working places and to observe the seasonal and monthly variation in their occurrence. This study generates a data on different fungi present in the air as well as their harmful effects on the humans working in that area.
