In this story, Ricky strives to write his numbers correctly as he simultaneously conquers his fear of bedtime and monsters. He makes a deal with the monsters that if he correctly writes his numbers, the persistent monsters will leave his mind. His proud accomplishments can be colored as a reward to even add further entertainment and celebration as your child becomes successful! How to use this book: A child's left hand is drawn on each page to ensure secure writing and paper placement. Your child should place his or her hand onto that page as they begin to write that specified number. The trick is that all of the numbers except 6 (the usual age when children show struggles in schools with writing backwards) face your left hand. Therefore in the story, the curves of each number are compared to the opening of a hungry monster eating at your left hand.

Autorenporträt
Avalon Regalbuto is the author of this book. She is the oldest child of six children in a tightly knit family. She has a bachelor's degree in health and sciences and has aspirations of becoming a doctor. Being from such a large family, she has an incredible desire to help teach and mentor children in their everyday endeavors. This story represents a tale her mother would tell her brothers and sisters as they began writing to help correct and make simple these beginning learners. Avalon hopes that all new readers, young and old, will enjoy the story of a child's triumph with writing and fearing monsters as her family did through the years.
