Born in east Texas and joined the U.S. Navy after High school. He picked up the nickname Mac. He became a electronic tech, and a combat air crewman. Stationed in different squardons, he served on many aircraft carriers. After leaving the service he worked a number of different jobs before becoming a writer. Mac now lives in Seagoville, Texas with his wife and a cat with an attitude.
