During his 43 years with Western Airlines, Larry worked in many different capacities, and was instrumental in creating a "hub" in Salt Lake City, Utah, in just 3 short months, a task most thought was impossible. Larry also helped to bring Western back from the brink of bankruptcy by working with the unions, implementing profit sharing, and leading by example. Larry truly "rode for the brand" and his loyalty and leadership were admired by many. On the day Larry retired in 1986, Western Airlines posted the highest profit in its 60 year history.
