The book deals with the theoretical basis of such notions as "writing as a genre of epistolary style", "contact-establishing function as a component of establishing, maintaining and unlocking of speech contact and linguistic means of its realization". The variety of terminology in modern linguistic works touching upon the problems of epistolary makes it difficult to study the linguistic features of epistolary literature. The correlation of epistolary with the concept of genre unites the views of such linguists as N.I. Belunova, I.R. Galperin, A.N. Kozhin and others. Analysis of scientific studies devoted to the problem of defining the genre, in the theory of genre there are different approaches to solving this problem. In the last decade, epistolary is studied by scientists as a type of discourse, which correlates with the concept of text, with the form of the text, with an arbitrary fragment of the text. The book is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic means of the contact-establishing function, which are aimed at establishing, maintaining and breaking the contact, on the example of letters of R.M. Rilke and M.I. Tsvetaeva.
Autorenporträt
Lapina Aliona  Olegovna was inspired by the work and life of the great poet Rainer Maria Rilke when she was still in school. Step by step, studying the German language with a special passion, she explored his work. All her scholarly writings were related to him. Teaching German at the college, she was particularly thrilled to instill in the younger generation a love of his work.
