The characters and events in this novel are fictional. They are about reality, trials of life, lessons learned, aches and pains, love, faith, hope, unity, tragedy, addiction and God-given free will, just to name a few. It's about two young immigrants from Canada who meet each other in the USA in the 1950s. Once married, they start a family: two boys, one right after the other, and then finally, a little girl, Tori. Then tragedy strikes, and the loss of Tori is devastating. The emotions and life that follow slow down for no one. The marriage is strained, then revived with the birth of another girl, Fiona, who was born with the gift of communicating with her deceased sister's spirit. Throughout Fiona's life, she keeps her sister's memory alive, making sure the world knows of her existence. In turn, Fiona receives her personal guardian angel--her sister, Tori--to show her gratitude. Fiona falls in love with some school dropout, a muscle-bound clown who scars her for life. Fiona packs up one day and leaves for California with her best friend, Rachael. They do good things and bad things together, and drift from reality into dark places. When the family stops hearing from her, they organize an undercover search for her. Tori offers guidance from the other side as Fiona's guardian angel, trying to manipulate and intervene in situations to help Fiona with a safe return. Fiona is in big trouble, and she is the only one who doesn't see it.

Autorenporträt
When I was a little girl, I had such a wild imagination, and I still do. I can fantasize effortlessly. I have also always had this habit of writing everything down. It helps me process and, many times, deal with emotions. It was and is a way to express how I feel. I enjoy writing fiction because, for me, the sky's the limit! I've always fantasized about writing a book. I feel as though I've got so much to say. God kept pushing me to write this book. And now, I'm working on the sequel. All glory to God! I've always tried to add His presence and kingdom into this story, ""Ripple in Still Waters,"" including Tori as a guardian angel. The truth is, I did have a sister, Michelle, and this book was written in her memory. She lived and died at sixteen months old, before I was born. Two years later, when I was born, the entire family was still mourning over her death. So, I thought that I would try to bring her back to life in my story and see things from her perspective as a guardian angel, Tori. So then I created problems along the way for her character to come alive with a purpose. It's a quick read, and it holds a message for each and every one of you. I write at my own pace and defy being handicapped. I try to live a quiet, peaceful life with my husband. We've had many motorcycle rides, and now we're enjoying boating and cruising around the lakes. We enjoy the outdoors and live in the boonies, which can be a challenge when the power goes out for days on end and the cell phones are useless, sometimes interrupting my progress as a writer. Frustrating at times, but still worth living in the woods!
