In recognition of the negative, long-term consequences associated with teenage pregnancy and births the prevention of out-of wedlock pregnancies is a major goal of this nation. Reducing no marital childbearing is one of the explicit goals that were stipulated in the 1996welfare reform law. Although the birth rate for teens has dropped in 21 of the last 23 years it remains higher than the teenage birth rate for teens has dropped in 21 of the last 23 years.

Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca nel Dipartimento di studi sulla popolazione e lavoro sociale nel 2012 presso l'Università S.V. di Tirupati. Per un paio d'anni ha lavorato come professore assistente presso il Dipartimento di lavoro sociale dell'Università di Arba Minch in Etiopia, Africa.
