The study universe consisted of 104 patients over 40 years of age who suffer from this disease, determined according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The information was obtained through a survey supported by questioning and physical examination. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for the analysis of data frequency distribution, absolute frequency and percentage. The results were illustrated in tables and texts. It was concluded that patients aged 50 to 59 years, of female sex and white race prevailed in the studied population.
