This study attempts to widen the literature on the subject area of risk and governance in finance. The study covers risks in Islamic and conventional finance. The theory and practice of corporate governance in Islamic finance is compared to that of conventional finance. Developments in the field of Islamic finance in the last half century, have contributed greatly to the theory and practice of finance. From a humble beginning as a field of study for few (eccentric) scholars, Islamic finance has grown to be an attractive aspects of global finance, and an industry worth over $2 trillion has grown around it. This work is unique in comparing Islamic and conventional finances. The language of the work is simple and straight forward.
