Dysphonia in children corresponds to an alteration of its acoustic characteristics,It is generally a disorder that manifests itself in children between 5 and 7 years of age, although it can appear at earlier ages. Dysphonia is a frequent symptom in this population, but not a common reason for consultation because this condition is often underestimated by parents. Objectives: To determine the presence of dysphonia and associated risk factors in children belonging to kindergartens in the western area of the Metropolitan Region of Chile.Methodology: Descriptive study in which 93 children were evaluated by means of a clinical observation guideline and a questionnaire for parents in relation to the vocal quality of their children. Voice parameters of each child were characterized by means of spontaneous conversation and RASAT scaling by 2 internal students of the phonoaudiology career. The results were analyzed with ODDS ratio.
